ALBION — Orleans County Administrator Chuck Nesbitt has been appointed to serve as the chairman of the Standing Committee on Taxation and Finance for the New York State Association of Counties. The committee will meet Feb. 8 as part of the NYSAC Legislative Conference in Albany.
Nesbitt was first appointed to the position of chief administrative officer by the Orleans County Legislature in 2005. He also serves as president of the New York State County Administrators and Managers Association, a NYSAC affiliate organization, and has previously served on the NYSAC Legislative Standing Committee.
“Mr. Nesbitt brings a valuable voice and perspective on county government operations, and we look forward to having this expertise leading this important committee,” said NYSAC Executive Director Stephen J. Acquario.
“NYSAC’s standing committees serve an important role in helping NYSAC shape our policies and positions on legislative issues. Nesbitt’s economic development and finance experience help us develop the strategic direction of our efforts in this area,” said NYSAC President Tom Santulli.
The New York State Association of Counties is a bipartisan municipal association serving all 62 counties of New York state, including the City of New York.
