Wednesday marked the kickoff of the 2010 “Together We Matter” campaign for the Western United Way Board. Dick Barry and Jim Hancock will be the chairmen of this year’s campaign, with a goal of $130,000 for 2010.
The meeting also introduced three new board members, Cindy McPherson, Maura Misiti and Chris Barone. The United Way is comprised of 16 volunteers from the communities of Medina and Lyndonville.
The Western United Way funds agencies around Orleans County. Agencies include: Camp Rainbow, Arc of Orleans, 4-H Youth, Girl Scouts of Western New York, HIV/AIDS Testing, Iroquois Trail Council Boy Scouts, Kitchen of Love, Lake Plains YMCA, Meals on Wheels, Medina Youth, Summer Park and Swim Program, Ministry of Concern, Just Friends, Orleans County Adult Learning Center, People Promoting Hospice, Rape Crisis, Senior Citizens of Western New York, Substance Abuse Program, the Genesee/Orleans Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse and the American Red Cross.
