Close to 100 people gathered Saturday at Wildwood Lake Family Campground for the official KOA grand opening. Wildwood has now become one of 460 Kampground of Americas across the United States, Canada and Mexico. It is the 13th in New York state.

During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, owners Rob and Rachel Kaiser were joined by Sen. George Maziarz, R-Newfane, Assemblyman Steve Hawley, R-Batavia, and many members of the local community.

“As the Orleans County Chamber continues to have a stronger focus on marketing and tourism, it is very exciting to have a member getting this national exposure for our county,” said Chamber Interim Executive Director Kevin Lake. “I really think we will all benefit from this.”

After the ceremony, tours were given of the campground, highlighting the recently completed in-ground swimming pool and new cabins.

The KOA designation gives Wildwood exclusive rights to be the only one in the region, and the campground will soon be listed in the KOA directory, which is distributed across the nation.
