The Girl Scout Silver Award represents a girl's accomplishments in Girl Scouting and her community as she grows and works to improve her life and the lives of others. This is the highest award a Cadette Girl Scout, age 11-14 can earn.

This award has several requirements with the final project taking at least 40 hours to complete.

Shae-Lyn Herman, a ninth grader at Lyndonville Central Middle-High School, earned her award by working with teachers at Lyndonville Central. Amanda Sullivan, an eighth grader at Lyndonville Middle-High School, earned her award by doing therapy dog visits to St. John’s Home with her dog Brooke.

Both girls are members of Girl Scout Troop 82051. They accepted their awards at the Girl Scout Headquarters in Rochester on May 17.
