CRASH: Motor vehicle, passanger bus collide.


ALBION — At 9:32 a.m. Sunday, Albion Fire Department responded to a two-car motor vehicle accident, in front of 3819 Oak Orchard Road, just south of the Albion town limits.

A passenger bus careened into the rear of a motor vehicle, that had suddenly stopped in the road, for unknown reasons. Albion firefighters, under the direction of Deputy Chief Sidari, had to extricate the passenger of the motor vehicle, using the Jaws of Life, according to Ron Holzermer, Public Information Officer for the Albion Fire Department

The driver of the car was transported by Mercy Flight 5, out of Batavia, to Strong Memorial Hospital with back injuries. The passenger was also transported by Medina ambulance to Strong.

The driver of the bus was uninjured.

The accident is still under investigation by the Orleans County Sheriff’s department, Holzermer said.
