Even though the month known for ghosts and ghouls is still four months away, the Medina Historical Society is on a mission. The group is looking for ghost stories to be incorporated in this year’s ghost walk.

“Anyone who has ghost stories they want to tell us, that would be great,” said member Cindy Robinson. “Local history someone might think is interesting.”

Medina Historical Society President Catherine Cooper said that they are also looking for any stories from the past that are interesting: Murders, mysteries or funny things.

“Not the kinds that made history, but the stories that are people’s lives,” Cooper said.

The ghost tour will be a walking tour, highlighting certain areas in the village. The event will be held at night, and lanterns will be carried to set the mood.

With the event being held in October, Cooper said that it is the time of year where people’s minds run to ghosts and ghouls and the supernatural, so she thinks that this can be a successful event.

“Batavia and Lewiston have popular ghost walks,” Cooper said. “We are just as old and sure to have stories of our own to tell.”

The one-hour tour will be given twice a night on Oct. 24 and Oct. 30.

Those who have stories they would like to tell can e-mail them to ghosttoursmedina@live.com.
