A Medina man was hospitalized after the bicycle he was riding collided with an SUV at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of Gwinn Street.
Walter Wehling, 47, of Medina rode his bicycle into the path of a vehicle driven by Bobbi Huwyler of Medina, according to fire officials.
Wehling was transferred by ambulance to Medina Memorial Hospital and later was transferred to the Erie County Medical Center for a head injury, according to Medina Fire Department Public Information Officer Jeff Elsenheimer.
There was no word on his condition at press time.
Wehling was not wearing a helmet, Elsenheimer said.
In addition to the fire department, the Police Department responded to the scene.
