Staff Reports
The annual Albion Strawberry Festival will celebrate its 23rd year with two days of activities, Friday and Saturday. The event will feature food, crafts, a car cruise, a parade and many more activities for the entire family.
The theme for this year’s event will be “Main Street.” Albion Main Street Alliance President Michael Bonafede said that the theme was chosen because of the Village of Albion’s designation as a national Main Street program.
New this year, a wine tasting will be held in association with a small farmers market. The turtle race will also be held for the second year in a row.
A dunk tank will be set up Saturday to raise money for the flag renewal fund. Bonafede said that AMSA is continuing to take care of the flags that are displayed on Main Street and this is a fundraiser to be held with that goal in mind. People in the dunk tank will include Village of Albion Deputy Mayor Kevin Sheehan, Albion High School Principal Mickey Edwards and 13 other participants.
