ALBION — The Albion Main Street Alliance will hold its special “First Friday” this week.
At “Santaland,” shoppers will be able to receive special, one-night-only deals at participating downtown businesses and a chance at a raffle. You can register for the free raffle from 5 to 8 p.m. at the AMSA table, located on the Swan Library lawn.
From 5 to 6:45 p.m., there will be open houses, live music, historic dramatizations and holiday decorations at the historic churches along Court House Square, including Christ Episcopal Church, the First Baptist Church, the First Free Methodist Church, the First Presbyterian Church, the First United Methodist Church, Holy Family Roman Catholic Church and Pullman Memorial Universalist Church.
From 7 to 7:30 p.m., the lighting of the tree will take place by Mayor Dean Theodorakos on the Court House lawn, and caroling will take place through the downtown area.
From 7:30 to 10 p.m., people can enjoy live holiday musical performances on North Main Street. The Albion Brass Ensemble will perform from 7:30 to 8 p.m.; the Barker Band from 8 to 9 p.m.; and various local artists from 9 to 10 p.m.
