TRIBUTE: Family, friends gather to remember Jenna Pratt

Staff Reports

More than 700 people gathered Friday to pay their final respects to Jenna H. Pratt, 17, who was killed in a car accident Dec. 6.

Described as a good student, friend and an exceptional person, all who attended her funeral service had many wonderful things to say about the girl who touched their lives.

“She carried on the family tradition of kindness, compassion and love,” said the Rev. Ray Noell.

Family and peers spoke during the service, telling about her smile, her love for dance and her love for singing. Jenna’s fellow Junior Miss contestants thanked her for making their experience “awesome” and said it will be hard for them to go to the state competition without her.

Playing some of her favorite songs, the memorial service also featured an original song written and performed by friend Brandon Noreck, titled “A Tribute to Jenna.”

Since the car accident that claimed Jenna’s life, many have gathered to pay their respects. A candlelight vigil held Dec. 6 was arraigned by her fellow classmates and more than 1,000 attended the visiting hours Thursday to say goodbye.

Jenna is the daughter of John and Sharlene Pratt. She was an active member of Future Farmers of America, mixed chorus and a’cappella choir. She had also been dancing for years and participated in softball and cheerleading while at MHS.
