Planning Boardgives Bank ofCastile the OK

Medina Journal-Register — MEDINA —The site plan review of the new Bank of Castile building passed with flying colors at the meeting of the Medina Planning Board Tuesday night.

The new bank building will be constructed behind the current building, and once the new one is ready to use, the old one will come down.

The board approved the design unanimously. Village Code Enforcement Officer Marty Busch complimented officials from the bank on their hard work in submitting the plan.

“The application is very complete,” he said, noting that it included all the necessary site drawings, requests for public hearings, etc. “This is a very nice design.”

Planning board member Nicole Goyette agreed. “As far as it being complete, I can’t find anything on our list that (this application) doesn’t have,” she said.

The board also took several other steps regarding the new bank building: It referred the accepted plan to the Orleans County Planning Board, it set a public hearing regarding the new building, it labeled itself as the lead agency dealing with the new building, and it referred the plan to the village tree board to approve the landscaping specifics.

• The village’s Zoning Board of Appeals will not meet this month, as there were no referrals.
