Medina/Lyndonville edges past Roy-Hart

Medina Journal-Register — GASPORT - A pair of first half goals proved to be just enough offense to earn Medina/Lyndonville a narrow 2-1 victory over Roy-Hart Thursday in the Niagara-Orleans League season finale.

Medina grabbed a quick 1-0 lead on a goal by Mason Roberts just three minutes in.

Roy-Hart rallied to knot the contest on a goal by Jesus Campos at the 28 minute mark of the first half.

However, the Mustangs anwered with a goal by Thomas Goetze, his team leading 15th of the season, with 8:42 remaining in the first half for what proved to be the game winner.

Medina/Lyndonville finishes the N-O season at 5-6-1 and Roy-Hart at 2-10.

Newfane 3, Wilson 2

NEWFANE - Newfane captured its first N-O championship since 1999 with a narrow 3-2 victory over rival Wilson.

Skyler Maurer scored the first two goals for Newfane and later assisted on the game winning tally by Ryan Doyle.

Newfane claims its second ever N-O crown with a 10-1-1 record as the Panthers edge out Akron (9-1-2) and Albion (9-2-1) for the championship.

Wilson finishes at 4-7-1.
