ALBION ROMPS TO QUARTERFINAL WIN

Medina Journal-Register — ALBION - Getting goal production from five different players, No. 4 seed Albion romped to an 8-0 victory over No. 5 Burgard Friday in the quarterfinal round of the Section VI Class B-1 boys soccer playoffs.

Sam Remley scored three goals to spearhead the attack for Albion which also got tallies from Jackson Hamilton, Zach Scanlan, Dani Biterbiev, Marcos Sanchez and Lennon Groth.

Breaking away from a scoreless deadlock, Albion took command by erupting for three lightning quick goals with a span of just three minutes late in the first half.

Hamilton opened that barrage and Remley and Groth quickly followed up with goals vaulting the Purple Eagles out to a 3-0 advantage at the break.

Keeping the momentum Albion then put a firm lock on the contest when Remley scored twice in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Tallies by Scanlan, Bieterbiev and Sanchez rounded out the scoring parade.

Albion next faces top seeded East Aurora, an 8-0 victor over Alden, in the semifinals at 7:30 this evening at All High Stadium in Buffalo.

Also in Class B-1, No. 2 Newfane shut out No. 7 Lafayette 4-0 on goals by Brad Duhow, Patrick Eadie, Brett Stern and Ethan Harpst. Stern also had two assists as Eadie and Duhow both had one.

Class B-2 Quarterfinals

No. 4 Akron nipped No. 5 Eden 1-0 on a first half goal by Randy Mayer and No. 1 Lackawanna blanked No. 3 Wilsn 3-0 Friday in the Class B-2 quarterfinals.

Section V 

No. 4 Bloomfield nipped No. 5 Holley 4-3 in the quarterfinals.

Girls Soccer

Kendall 6, Bolivar-Richburg 2

No. 3 Kendall bested No. 6 Bolivar-Richburg 6-2 as Nicole Browe scored three goals and Emily Ackles, Amber Clay and Kendra LoSapio each netted one.

No. 6 Holley dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 3 Byron-Bergen in the CCC quarterfinals.
