Medina Journal-Register — KENDALL - Steadily pulling away, Kendall celebrated Senior Night by defeating Lyndonville 45-23 Thursday in a Genesee Region League girls basketball game.
Ashley Makowski scored 16 and Nicole Browe 13 to lead the way for Kendall which improves to 7-9.
Sierra VanWycke scored eight for Lyndonvile which slips to 4-12.
A three and a lay-up by Browe, along with a three by Toni ReQua, sparked Kendall out to a 11-6 first quarter lead.
The Lady Eagles upped the advantage to 10, 20-10, at the half as lay-up off steal by Browe and a lay-up by Makowski keyed a 9-4 second quarter run.
Kendall quickly upped the lead to 17, 27-10, three minutes into the third quarter after a three and a lay-up off a steal by Makowski and a lay-up by Taylor Kingsbury.
A three by Browe helped keep the Lady Eagles up by 14, 32-18, at the three-quarter mark.
Kendall boosted the advantage to 20, 39-19 early in the final perid after a three and a lay-up off a steal by Makowski.

Gina Henley scored 23 and Tobi Abrams 15 to led Akron (3-9) to a 45-35 upset victory over Newfane (10-2) Thursday in an N-O contest.
Katie Shaw led Newfane with 12.

Avengining an earlier season 53-50 loss, Newfane downed Akron 52-31 Thursday to move into a tie for second place in the Niagara-Orleans League standings and also clinch at least a tie for the title for undefeated (11-0) CSAT.
Bryan Geise scored 21 and Connor Sears 11 for Newfane which moves into a tie for second at 9-3 with Akron.
