LYNDONVILLE —
Coming from behind with a big third period scoring surge, Lyndonville bested Kendall 41-34 Thursday in a Genesee Region League game.
Trailing 18-15 early in the third period, Lyndonville put together a decisive 12-0 run to rally into the lead for good for the Lady Tigers fourth victory of the season.
Madison Gardepe had a three and a lay-up and Jenna Castricone a three to highlight that uprising which also included a jumper by Haley Anderson and a lay-up by Sierra VanWycke.
Gardepe had a total of seven and Anderson four in the stanza which saw Lyndonville out point Kendall 18-6 to rally into a 33-22 advantage at the three-quarter mark.
A lay-up by Geness Joy, a jumper by VanWycke and a rebound bucket by Anderson then kept the Lady Tigers in charge down the stretch.
Lyndonville also had a good 8-2 burst to open the second quarter on two rebound baskets by VanWycke along with jumpers by Courtney Traxler and Gardepe to take a 13-7 lead.
However, Kendall countered with three straight threes by Toni ReQua to take a 16-5 half-time lead.
A bucket by Jordan Helms upped the Eagles lead to 18-15 at the out set of the third period but Lyndonville answered with the key 12-0 run to reclaim the lead for good.
Anderson finished with 11 Gardepe nine and VanWycke eight to lead Lyndonville’s balanced scoring.
ReQua netted nine, Helms seven and Morgan Rath and Ashley Makowski six each for Kendall.
