They don’t know their opponent yet, but the Medina Mustangs know they will be home Friday to begin Section VI Class B-1 playoff competition.
Seeded No. 4 Medina, which finished in the runner-up spot in the Niagara-Orleans League standings at 12-2 (13-5 overall), will host a B-1 quarterfinal contest at 7 p.m. Friday against one of three possible opponents — Grover Cleveland of Buffalo, Springville or Eden.
No. 13 Eden (0-18) will visit No. 12 Springville (2-16) this evening with the victor to face No. 5 Grover Cleveland (12-6) on Wednesday. The winner of that game will travel to Medina on Friday night.
Albion (10-4, 13-5) will begin Section VI Class A-2 playoff action at 7 p.m. Friday, as the No. 6 Purple Eagles visit No. 3 Lafayette in the quarterfinals.
Also in Class B-1, No. 9 Newfane (7-11) will visit
No. 8 Dunkirk (7-11) at
7 p.m. Wednesday with the winner traveling to No. 1 Olean (16-2) Friday.
In Class B-2, No. 11 Roy-Hart (4-14) visits No. 6 Southwestern (7-11) at 7 p.m. Wednesday with the victor facing No. 3 Cleveland Hill (11-5) in the quarterfinals Friday. Also, No. 4 Akron (11-&) will host the winner of Wednesday’s Burgard vs. Emerson game in the quarterfinals Friday.
N-O champion Wilson (16-2) is the No. 1 B-2 seed and will host the winner of Wednesday’s Buffalo Arts (6-11) vs. City Honors (6-11) game on Friday.
In Class C, No. 13 Barker (5-13) travels to No. 12 Silver Creek (7-11) at 7 this evening with the winner to visit No. 5 Portville (13-5) Wednesday.
Lyndonville begins Section V Class D-1 competition at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at Letchworth against No. 5 Jasper-Troupsburg (13-5). The victor will play the winner of the No. 13 Genesee Valley (4-14) vs. No. 4 Arkport (14-4) game on Saturday in the quarterfinals.
In Section V Class C-2 action, No. 16 Kendall will face No. 1 Dundee (15-3) at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bloomfield.
Holley (13-5), which is seeded No. 3 in Class B-2, will host No. 6 Wayland-Cohocton (9-9) at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Holley cagers top Lyndonville
Moving on top to stay with an 11-2 run to close the first half, Holley went on to defeat Lyndonville 68-58 Thursday in a Genesee Region League game.
Sage Hodge scored a game high 23 points while Camron Quaranto netted 17 and Kyle Bell 16 to lead the way for Holley. -

Jumping out to a big early lead, Medina went on to defeat Albion, 41-36, Wednesday in a Niagara-Orleans League match.

In other N-O action, front-running Newfane improved to 5-0 by defeating rival Wilson (2-2) 60-17 and Barker (1-3) downed Akron (0-5) 43-36. -
