Albion, Medina duos head All-County team

Medina Journal-Register — Medina and Albion have both placed two players on the first team of the 27th annual Journal-Register All-Orleans County girls basketball squad.

Medina is represented by senior Alba Perez, the only repeat first team honoree, and junior Tanisha Robinson.

Albion has placed senior Eboni Taylor and freshman Kelsee Soule.

Rounding out the first team is Kendall senior Ashley Makowski.

Perez led Medina in both scoring and rebounding this season. Perez scored 317 points for a 16.5 average and grabbed off 295 rebounds. 

Robinson scored 184 points (10.7 average) and also had 69 assists, 63 steals and 32 rebounds.

Taylor led Albion in scoring with 181 points (10.7 average). She also had 100 rebounds, 37 steals and 34 assists.

Soule led Albion on the boards with 144 rebounds. She also scored 169 points (9.9 average) and had 30 steals and 25 assists.

Makowski scored 168 points (9.3 avg.) and had 54 steals, 46 rebounds and 28 assists.

Earning honorable mention on the All-County squad is the quintet of Lyndonville senior Sierra VanWycke, Holley senior Alyssa Scherer and Kendall senior Abbey David along with the Albion duo of senior Sarah Papponetti and sophomore Justice Nauden.

Nauden scored 123 points (8.2) average and added 55 steals, 42 rebounds and 40 assists.

Papponetti had 48 steals, 43 assists, 82 rebounds and scored 79 points 4.9 avg.)

David grabbed off 152 rebounds and had 37 steals and scored 90 points (5.0 avg.).

Scherer scored 131 points (7.2 avg.) and pulled down 114 rebounds.

VanWycke scored 161 points (9.4 avg.).
