Medina Journal-Register — ALBION - A busy early season schedule is on tap for an underclassmen dominated Albion High varsity wrestling squad.
In rapid succession the Purple Eagles will host Lyndonville on Nov. 28, visit Batavia on Nov. 30, host LeRoy on Dec. 4 and Kendall on Dec. 6 and visit Depew on Dec. 8 before opening the Niagara-Orleans League season at Medina on Dec. 12.
Sophomore Aaron Burnside, who placed second at the N-O Tournament last year, and freshman Tre Hart, who placed third, heads Albion’s veteran contingent which also includes seniors Ed Narburgh and Greg Blank along with juniors Dylan Burkhardt, Kyle McGaffick, Ed Wolfe, Aaron Mulroy, Tyler Kania and Justyn Haines.
“We’ve got a good number of returnees and they know what to expect with the competition we’ll face on our schedule,” coach Keith Piccirilli said.
Albion went 2-4 during the regular N-O season last fall which saw Newfane capture the championship.
