Medina Journal-Register — A trio of Niagara-Orleans League players including Barker junior attacker Olivia Denny, Akron junior midfielder Claudia Stone and Kenmore junior attacker Kaeli Mathias have been named to the first team of the All-Western New York field hockey squad.
Denny had 21 goals and 10 assists to help spark Barker to the Niagara-Orleans League, Section VI and Far West Regionals titles and a trip to the state semifinals.
Stone had a total of 29 assists to help lead Akron to the Section VI Class C finals where the Tigers dropped a 1-0 decision to Barker.
Mathias led the N-O league with 29 goals.
The Barker duo of seniors Kayla Moeller and Jessica Hefferon both earned second team All-WNY honors as did Akron’s senior Alisha Bell. Moeller had 16 goals and eight assists, Hefferon four goals and three assists and Bell seven goals.
Roy-Hart’s senior forward Paige Flynn earned All-WNY honorable mention. She led the Lady Rams in scoring with 12 goals.
