Small veteran groupleads Ram grapplers

Medina Journal-Register — MIDDLEPORT - Six returning starters anchor the line up for Roy-Hart which is set to open the season at the Pal-Mac Torunament this weekend.

Seniors Zach Bickle, Drew Hull, Alex Jensen and Clayton Smith along with sophomore Troy Lawson and freshman Cameron Swick lead the way for Roy-Hart which went 5-1 in Niagara-Orleans League dual match competition last year.

Bickle, Hull and Swick all captured N-O titles while Jensen and Smith placed second. Hull went on to win a Class C title, finish second at the Section VI championships and second at the state championships. Jensen also claimed a Class C title while Bickle finished second, Smith third and Swick fourth. Swick also placed fourth and Bickle fifth at the Section VI championships.

“We’ve got some good kids back but overall we’re a very young team and the smallest I’ve had,” said coach Kevin Lawson. “They are working hard but we need a lot of experience.”

The Rams will open the N-O season Dec. 5 at

Wilson.
