Medina Journal-Register — ALBION — Getting goal production from five different players, Albion celebrated Senior Night with a 5-0 victory over Barker Thursday in a Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer game.
Sarah Papponetti, Mariah Elsenheimer and Monica Benjovesky scored in the first half for Albion which also got second half tallies by Abby Squicciarini and Kayla Doyle. Joyce LaLonde also had two assists on the night for the Purple Eagles.
Albion improves to 8-4-1 and Barker slips to 2-11.
Akron 5, Medina 0
AKRON - Erica Papka scored two goals and Cailin Regan, Alyssa Jones and Paige Buscaglia each added one to lead Akron (11-2) past Medina (4-8).
The win keeps the Lady Tigers deadlocked with Newfane (11-2), a 6-0 winner over CSAT (0-12).
Wilson maintained sole possession of first place at 10-1-1 by downing Roy-Hart (4-9) 5-0 as four second half goals clinched the victory.
Elba 2, Lyndonville 1
Katie Albone scored the goal for Lyndonville in Wednesday’s 2-1 Genesee Region League loss to Elba.
Lyndonvlle earned its first win of the season this past Saturday defeating Oakfield-Alabama 2-1 as Gabrielle Dusett scored two goals.
Kendall 5,
Wheatland-Chili 0
Nicole Browe scored four second half goals to key Kendall to a 5-0 G-R win over Wheatland-Chili Wednesday. Browe also had the assist on Kendall’s first half goal which was scored by Kendra LoSapio.
Kendall is now 10-3-1.
Boys Soccer
Holley 2, Pembroke 1
First half goals by Tyler Chmylak and Sam Beadle earned Holley a narrow 2-1 Genesee Region League victory at Pembroke Thursday.
The win boosts Holley to 7-2 in the league and 11-3 overall.
On Tuesday, Will Barniak scored two goals and Gabriel Mendoza one for Holley in Tuesday’s 3-1 win over Attica. Jon Bowen added two assists.
