Barker/Roy-Hart rolls past East

Medina Journal-Register — BARKER - Scoring at least one touchdown in each quarter, Barker/Roy-Hart rolled to a 35-12 victory over East High of Buffalo Saturday in a B East Division contest.

Brett Cole scored two touchdowns while Brad Bobbitt, Nick Burdick and Tucker Ruhlen each tallied once as Barker/Roy-Hart earned its fourth straight victory to finish the regular season at 4-3.

Burdick scored on a one yard run in the first quarter and Cole tallied on a one yard run in the second period giving Barker/Roy-hart a 15-0 lead at the half. Quarterback Jacob Haight kicked the extra point after the first score and Bobbitt added the two-point conversion run after the second.

The Barker/Roy-Hart advantage soared to 29-0 in the third quarter as Haight hooked up with Ruhlen for a 41 yard touchdown pass and Cole returned a punt 66 yards for another score.

Bobbitt rounded out the Barker/Roy-Hart scoring with a 13 yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

The Barker/Roy-Hart defense came up big repeatedly stopping three first half East drives with turnovers as Bradley Hayes had a fumble recovery and Haight and Bobbitt pas interceptions. Jonathan Bedford also had a fumble recovery in the third quarter to stop another East drive.

East, which drops to 2-4, 2-5, got second half touchdown runs by quarterback Jevante Glover and running back Daquan Quarles.

The game’s half-time ceremonies featured the retiring of the jersey No. 00 in honor of the memory of Tyler Miller, a member of the JV football team who passed away recently.

Holley 36,

Oakfield-Alabama 0

OAKFIELD - Making it four wins in a row, Holley romped past Oakfield-Alabama 36-0 Friday to close out the Genesee Region League season.

Cadizsh Norford and Nick Conklin each scored two touchdowns to lead the way for Holley which finishes the regular season at 3-3 in the league and 4-3 overall.

Holley jumped out to a quick 14-0 first quarter lead as Norford scored twice on runs of two and 20 yards. Zach Hoyle added the two point conversion after the first TD.

The Hawks made it 30-0 in the third quarter as Hogle ran 47 yards for one touchdown and Conklin one yard for another. Norford and Hogle added  two point conversions.

Conklin rounded out the Hawks scoring with a 48 yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Conklin finished with 135 yards rushing and Norford and Hogle 100 yards each as the Hawks picked up a total of 347 yards on the ground.

Defensively, Conklin was in on 10 tackles and Mike Silvis had eight tackles and two sacks.
