Newfane booters blank Medina

Medina Journal-Register — Getting goal production from five different players, Newfane blanked Medina 5-0 Wednesday at Vets Park to maintain a one-third share of first place atop the Niagara-Orleans League standings.

In the other N-O games, Wilson blanked Barker 4-0, Akron shut out Roy-Hart 7-0 and Albion romped past CSAT 11-0. Those results leave Newfane, Wilson and Akron all deadlocked for first place at 7-1 and Albion two games off the pace at 5-3.

Goals by Savannah Jonathan and Alexis Moreland gave Newfane a 2-0 half-time advantage.

The Lady Panthers then put a lock on the victory with second half goals by Kaylee Heschke, Sophie Connor and Chelsea Dunn.

Shannon Shaw earned the shut out in goal.

The loss drops Medina to 2-6.

Albion 11, CSAT 0

ALBION - Mariah Elsenheimer and Joyce LaLonde each scored three goals to lead the way for Albion which also got tallies by Ali O'Hearn, Mandy Covis, Taylor Soule, Arianna Smith and Kendall Piccirilli.

Albion led 7-0 at the half.

Wilson 4, Barker 0

WILSON - Mallori Gagnon, Emily Kams, Brooke Douglas and Kaitlyn Chapman took turns scoring the goals for Wilson which led 3-0 at the half. Samantha Grizanti added two assists.

Grace Adams earned the shut out in goal.

Akron 7, Roy-Hart 0

GASPORT - Alyssa Jones scored three goals to lead the attack for Akron.

Kendall 1, Pembroke 0

PEMBROKE - Nicole Browe scored a goal late in the first half, off an assist from Ashley Makowski, to earn Kendal la narrow 1-0 victory over Pembroke Wednesday in a Genesee Rgion League game.

Kendall is now 7-2-1.

Boys Soccer

Holley 1, Wheatland-Chili

Holley edged past Wheatland-Chili 1-0 Monday in a G-R contest on a goal by Josh Drewry off an assist from Sam Beadle.

The Hawks improve to 4-1 in the league and 7-1 overall.
