MEDINA —
Florence J. Simpson, of Medina, passed away on Saturday evening, September 29, 2012 at the Medina Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Simpson was born in Brockville, New York, on December 11, 1932, a daughter of the late Gene and Matilda (DePalma) Nenni.
A graduate of Buffalo State College, she was employed by the Rochester School System, as a teacher and later by the Medina School District. Following her marriage to Robert N. Simpson on August 20, 1955, she was employed as a substitute teacher in the Medina district for a few years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish/St. Marys Church, Court Santa Maria #295, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, the Home Club, Bridge Club and was an Elections Inspector in the Village of Medina.
Survivors include her husband, Robert N.; three children, Dennis (Michelle) Of Westminster, MD, Janet (Mark) Gooch of Houston, TX and Gary (Kelly) Simpson of Bethlehem, PA; eight grandchildren, Jenna, Cori, Rachael, Jessica, Christina, Hannah, Connor and Braden; three brothers, Joe (Maxine) Nenni of Chicago, Eugene (Margaret) Nenni of Lockport and John (Donna) Nenni of Rochester; two brothers-in-law, David Simpson of Holley and Tony D'Lallo of Spencerport; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Monday (4-7 PM) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. The Rev. Daniel J. Fawls will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 2 PM at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish/St. Marys Church and interment will be in St. Marys Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Knights/Kaderli Memorial Fund.
