Harvey M. McMillan, 91, formerly of Medina and Rochester, NY, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 14, 2013, at the Sun City Center Hospice House, FL. Born on April 14, 1921 in Thorold, Ontario, CA, he was the son of the late John and Bertha (Dennis) McMillan.
Harvey grew up in the Lyndonville area. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII, serving in the European Theatre. On returning home, he worked as a Tool and Die Maker for Phinney Tool & Die, Medina and lastly, as a Machinist for Eastman-Kodak for 25 years, retiring in 1986. Harvey moved to Sun City Center, FL, after his retirement.
Harvey is survived by two daughters, Elaine (Bruce) Smith of Farmington, NY, and Patty (Mark) Bettencourt of Lilburn, GA; four grandchildren, Kim Smith and Craig Smith, both of Rochester, NY, Katy (Jerry) Pennington of Buford, GA, Kristen (Ty) Oakley of Greensboro, NC; one great-granddaughter, Parks Oakley; and many nieces and nephews. Harvey is predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Marion; four brothers, Harold, Duncan; his twin-brother, Robert and Gordon.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday, January 18, 2013, from 7-9 PM at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St., Medina, NY. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Hartland Bible Church, 8110 West Ave., Gasport, NY, with the Pastor, Rev. Jonathan Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in the Hartland Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Harveys name to Strong Ties Community Support Program, "CARES" c/o Dr. J. Steven Lamberti, 2613 W. Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14623.
