Helen A. (Bloom) Piazza

ALBION — Helen A. Piazza, age 90, died December 5, 2012, at The Villages of Orleans. She was born November 11, 1922 in the Town of Gaines, a daughter of the late Stanley and Bessie (Ciesielski) Bloom. Helen was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph's Church and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was the former Deputy Commissioner for the Orleans County Board of Elections and was an avid Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan.

She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Piazza; brother, Edmund Bloom; sister, Gertrude Passarelli. She is survived by her children, Kathleen Ludwick, Annette Stilwell, both of  Albion; Anthony (Priscilla) Piazza of VA; nine grandchildren, Donald Stilwell, Robert (Jennifer) Stilwell, Lynette Stilwell, Stacie (James) Baker, Amy (Robert) Parker, Jori Ludwick Griffin, John (Danielle) Ludwick, Shelise Piazza, Bethany Piazza; 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 W. Ave., Albion, Friday from 4:00-7:00 PM. Helen's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish Saturday at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Villages of Orleans Donation Dementia Unit Fund.
