MIDDLEPORT —
Francis J. "Sonny" Menclewicz, of Middleport, passed away early Saturday morning, December 29, 2012 at his home. Mr. Menclewicz was born in the Town of Shelby, August 31, 1936, a son of the late Frank and Mary (Cotriss) Menclewicz.
A graduate of Medina High School, Class of 1955, he married the former Kathleen Holihan on August 18, 1962. He was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish/St. Stephen's Church. He was employed by E & M Enterprises, as a machinist for 31 years, retiring in 1990. From 1970-1985, he also operated his farm where he raised beef cattle. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his son, Frank (Michelle Harris) Menclewicz; and his daughter, Mary Catherine "Katie" (John) Parker both of Middleport; two grandchildren, Grace and Aubree; two sisters, Marcia (Bruce) Foley and Carrie (Gerard) Wittmeyer, both of Medina; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife on May 31, 2008 and his sister, Joan M. Pritchard on May 8, 2006.
Friends may call on Wednesday (4-7 PM) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. The Rev. Daniel J. Fawls will celebrate his Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 11 AM at Holy Trinity Parish/St. Mary's Church, Medina. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
