WEST BARRE —
Elizabeth "Liz" A. Peters, age 91, of W. Barre Rd., died on January 29, 2013 at Genesee County Nursing Home in Batavia. She was born on May 14, 1921 in West Barre, a daughter of the late Homer and Alena Mary (Bragg) Waldo and had lived in this area all of her life.
She was an active member of the West Barre United Methodist Church for over 80 years. Liz was a stay at home mom, where she was the happiest when she was surrounded by her family.
Liz was predeceased by her husband, Ned, in 1981; her sister, Helen Carr; step-sister, Betty Hakes; son-in-law, Ron Polick. She is survived by her seven daughters, Doreen Peters of Pittsford, Sherry (Mark) Bernreuther of Hilton, Carla (Jack) Rathbun of Webster, Joan Peters of West Barre, Wendy Peters Polick of Holley, Toni (George) Mills of Basom, Juliette (Eric) Phelps of Corfu; grandchildren, Dane, Megan Rathbun, Brad, Kim, Kerry Mills, Rachel (Shawn) Bowman, Erica, Matthew, Geoffrey Phelps; great-grandson, Avery Bowman; sister-in-law, Grace Allen of West Barre; many nieces and nephews.
There are no prior calling hours. Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 9th at 11:00 AM at the West Barre United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Millville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the W. Barre United Methodist Church. Arrangements were completed by the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. Albion.
