Bessie Mae "Bird" Brady

MEDINA — Bessie Mae "Bird" Brady, 80, of Medina, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 28, 2013.

Born on February 28, 1932, in Fort Valley, GA, she was the daughter of the late Gus and Lilly (Bryant) Taylor. She moved to Medina and married the late George Henry Brady. She was a member of the Glad Tidings Baptist Church, working in many auxiliaries. She retired from the Albion Correctional Facility as a cook and then moved to Summerfield, FL, were she became an evangelist and a member of the Eastern Star. She loved to serve the Lord and to cook and fish.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Georgia A. Bradley; two sons, Richard L.  and Johnny F. Brady and granddaughter, Cynthia Saeger.

She is survived by six daughters, Delores (Calvin) Jones of Summerfield, FL; Elizabeth Brady of Albion, NY; Bessie Lee Wilson of Rochester, NY; Glennis (Eugene) Scott of Bergen, NY; Philip Brady of Albion, NY; Gloria (Doug) Powell of Medina, NY; and Loretta (Robert) Lewandowski of Albion, NY. Also a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St., Medina, NY, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 1:00 PM at the Glad Tidings Baptist Church, 404 W. Oak Orchard St., Medina, NY, with the Pastor, Rev. Lambert Duncan, officiating. Burial will be in the Boxwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her name to the Hospice of Orleans Co., P.O. Box 489, Albion, NY 14411; or to Lifetime Care Hospice of Rochester, 3111 Winton Rd., Rochester, NY 14623; or to Glad Tidings Baptist Church.
