Floyd E. Fisher

MEDINA — Floyd E. Fisher, of Barker, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013, at the Medina    Memorial Healthcare System.

Mr. Fisher was born in the Town of Somerset  on May 28, 1923, son of the late Edgar and Hazel (Benedict) Fisher and he had lived all of his life in Barker.

He served in the US Navy from l942 to l945. He and his wife, Kathryn (Kress) Fisher, were married March 22, 1949.

Mr. Fisher owned and operated Houseman and Fisher Construction Company, was a member of the West Somerset Baptist Church, Lyndonville American Legion and had been a member of Gideons International, and had also been a Boy Scout leader.

He was predeceased by a brother, Laverne Fisher.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn W. Fisher; two sons and two daughters, Marcia Fisher Pennell of Texas, Michael (Beth) Fisher of Lockport, James (Connie) Fisher of Lyndonville, and Kathy (Paul) Meloon of Batavia; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00AM, with the Rev. Scott Walker officiating. Burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery. Memorials to the West Somerset Baptist Church would be appreciated by the Fisher family.
