Paul H. Pettit

LOCKPORT — Paul H. Pettit, of Lockport, NY, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2012, under the care of his family and Niagara Hospice. Born on May 21, 1938 in Medina, NY, he was the son of Robert and Martha Sparks Pettit. He received his bachelor's degree from General Motors Institute and attended Ohio State University for graduate studies. He was a mechanical engineer and retired from Delphi Thermal Systems in 2000 after 36 years. Mr. Pettit was a member of Lockport Alliance Church, member and secretary of Waterford Estates Board of Managers and served as a Councilman for the Town of Lockport for numerous years. He loved politics, the outdoors and attending his grandchildren's activities.

Predeceased by his wife, Kathleen R. Pettit, and grandchildren, Matthew and Heather Sy, Mr. Pettit is survived by his five children, Diane (Thomas) Sy of Lockport; Molly (Joe) Dewey of KS; Paul (Jacki) Pettit of MN; Martha (Mike) Putnam of Lockport; and Thomas (Annebet) Pettit of MN; 13 grandchildren, Ashley and Rachael Sy; Joseph, Nathanial and Hope Dewey; Brett and Evan Pettit; Michaela, Andrew and Grace Putnam; and Jake, Sophie and Robbie Pettit; his beloved companion, Donna Day; two sisters, Roberta (Ron) Furness of Medina and Kathleen (Keith) Kyle of Lockport; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Lange Funeral Home, Inc., 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM from Lockport Alliance Church, 555 Davison Road, Lockport, NY.
