Michael L. Harper

BATAVIA/ALBION/ROCHESTER — Michael L. Harper was called home to be with his Lord on January 17, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. He was born at the former Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital in Albion, July 9, 1967, and had lived in the Kent area most of his life.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, was an avid fisherman, loved nature and was always willing to help others. Michael enjoyed working with his employment family at Yancey's Fancy Inc. in Corfu.

Michael was predeceased by his father, Thomas Harper I and nephew, Thomas Harper III. He is survived by his children, Michael Jr. and Alexis; special friend, Patricia Gayton; his mother, Delores Harper of Medina; brothers, Thomas (Patricia) Harper of Kent, Jimmy (Robin) Harper of Albion; sisters, Helen Thompson of Rochester, Susie (Charles) Thornton of Rochester, Darlene Harper of Atlanta, GA, Charlene (Robert) Montgomery of Atlanta, GA; several nieces, nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 W. Avenue, Albion, Wednesday from 6:00-9:00 PM and Thursday 11:00-1:00 PM, where his funeral   service will be held at 1:00. Interment will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center at Strong Memorial Hospital.
