Dorothy G. (Ludington) Haines

ALBION — Dorothy G. Haines, age 89, died February 19, 2013, at Lakeside Memorial Hospital.  She was born April 26, 1923 in the Town of Murray, a daughter of the late Burt and Ellinor (Bliss) Ludington and had lived in this area all of her life. Dorothy was a life member of Christ     Episcopal Church and the Orleans Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. Dorothy and her late husband, Paul, worked at Albion Agencies for several years. She was a Board      Member for the former Swan Library (now Hoag Library) and the former Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital. She was appointed to the Board of the N.Y.S. School for the Blind in Batavia by then Governor Nelson Rockefeller. Dorothy enjoyed playing Bridge, reading, traveling and in later years, became an avid N.Y. Yankees fan.

She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Robert Haines in 1990. Dorothy is survived by her children, Carolyn L. Hellreich of Medina, Michael C. (Pat Y.) Haines of Grand Rapids, MI, Pat (Don) Bemont of Albion, Chris (Pat A.) Haines of Waterport; grandchildren, Jennifer, Sean, Andy, Dan, Amanda and Mark; great-granddaughter, Sophie.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 W. Ave., Albion, Monday 5:00-8:00 PM. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, at 11:00 AM at the Christ Episcopal Church, 26 S. Main St., Albion.  Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Holley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hoag Library, 134 S. Main St., Albion NY 14411.
