Donaldine "Dee" DePeters

ALBION — Donaldine "Dee" DePeters, age 91, died, peacefully, January 13, 2013, at Medina Memorial Hospital. She was born June 26, 1921, in Holley, a daughter of the late John and Lena (Mancini) Quarantello, and had lived in this area all of her life.

Donaldine was the second eldest of five siblings.  She graduated from Holley High School in the class of 1939.  She then began her interest and love for Cosmetology where she attended the Schoenheit's School of Beauty Culture in Rochester, and then had advanced training in fashion at M. Louis in New York City. After completing her training she worked at Sibley's and McCurdy's  Department Store for years.

After her marriage to Edward Joseph DePeters in November of 1950, she started her own hair dressing business out of her home in Albion. She had a very successful business for over 50years.  When she wasn't working in her beauty shop, she spent her pleasure hours in her gardens tending to her flowers. Donaldine also loved to cook and bake. She was a member of Holy Family Parish.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Edward, in April 2002. She is survived by three loving children, Dr. Edward (Susan) DePeters of CA, Richard (Margaret) DePeters of Albion, Donna (Norman) Shea of Ontario, NY; six grandchildren, Jason (Kimberly) Bennett of NC, Julie (Russell) Courchine of NC, Natalie (Jon) Zecher of Rochester, Kaitlin (Sam) Giardina of Liverpool, NY, Mark (Michelle) DePeters of CA, Leigh DePeters of CA; several great-grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Pat Quarantello of FL; and her close friends, Ted and Gerry Swiercznski and Doreen Goffe.

There are no prior calling hours. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013, at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans or to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements were completed by the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., Albion.
