Jacob J. Jakaub, Sr.

ALBION —  

Jacob J. Jakaub, Sr., age 70, of Bacon Road, died on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in Strong Memorial Hospital following a short illness. He was born in Batavia on February 10, 1942 to Jacob M. and Gladys (Sileski) Jakaub and was a lifetime resident of this area.
Jack was a member of the United States Marine Corps, a former member of the Hart Hose Company of the Albion Fire Department and enjoyed tinkering in his machine shop. He loved to build and fly radio controlled airplanes and was also a Harley Davidson enthusiast.
Mr. Jakaub is survived by his son, Jack Jakaub of Kentucky; his daughter, Julie (Dave) Makowski of Rochester; his brother, Paul (Cathy) Jakaub of Albion; as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Avenue, Albion, FRIDAY from 12-1 PM where his Funeral Service with Military Honors will be held following visitation at 1 PM. Private burial will be held in Mt. Albion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Strong Memorial Hospital.
