LYNDONVILLE —
Irene P. Gardner, 83, of Lyndonville, NY, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at the Orchard Manor Nursing Home.
Born on August 12, 1929, in Ellenburg, NY, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Vivian (Collins) Secore.
On March 4, 1946, she married the late John D. Gardner and together raised six sons. They moved to this area in 1968 from Brainardsville, NY, and at one time was employed with the former Fisher-Price of Medina. In her spare time she enjoyed flower gardening.
Irene is survived by six sons, David (Nancy) Gardner of The Villages, FL; John (Sue) Gardner of Warren, MI; Robin (Colleen) Gardner of Virginia Beach, VA; Bryon Gardner of Port Jarvis, NY; Terry (Lori) Gardner of Lyndonville, NY; Randy Gardner of Lockport; 20 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Secore of Shazey Lake, NY; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Irene was predeceased by 11 siblings.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday, February 8, 2013, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St., Medina, NY, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Daniel Thurber officiating. Burial will be in W. Ridgeway Cemetery in the spring. Memorials may be made in Irene's name to Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Co., 11392 Ridge Rd., Medina, NY 14103.
