James A. O'Mara

ALBION —  

James A. O'Mara, age 74, died on November 21, 2012 at Lakeside Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 15, 1938 in Holley, a son of the late James and Orienta (DiMascio) O'Mara and had lived in this area all of his life.
Jim had served in the US Army from 1956-1958 and was a member of the Strickland Post VFW of Albion. He had worked at General Electric in Brockport for over 27 years. Jim was also a member of the St. Mary's Athletic Club and loved to golf and fish. But most of all, Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and dear friends.
He was predeceased by his sister, Carolyn O'Mara; and dear friend, John Penna. Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gloria; his son, James Buzzy (Lisa Girvin) of Albion; his daughters, Pamelia (Rick Heise) Taylor of Albion, Linda (Brian) Burke of Albion, Debra O'Mara of Albion, Brenda Bear Creasey of Albion; six grandchildren, Joshua (Laura) Wolck, Michael Sargent, Danielle Wirth, Alexis Creasey, Christian Swiercznski, Nicolina Creasey; brother, John (Carol) O'Mara of Holley; sisters, Annette Geraci of Holley, Anita (Larry) Pimm of Bergen; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 W. Ave., Albion on Saturday from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM, where his Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 PM with full military honors. Memorials may be made to Lakeside Memorial Hospital.
