Patrick "Spud" Murphy

ALBION —  

Patrick "Spud" Murphy, age 60, died suddenly on December 18, 2012. He was born on August 18, 1952 in Wellsville, NY, a son of John and Elizabeth (Sullivan) Murphy.
Pat was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph's Church and a graduate of Albion High School. He was Executive Vice President of Western Regional O.T.B, retiring in 2007. Spud was a member and Trustee of Albion Lodge #1006 B.P.O.E., Stafford Country Club and a social member of Strickland Post V.F.W. He was an avid golfer, Buffalo Bills and Syracuse Orangemen fan and enjoyed going to the track in Batavia to watch the horses. Pat and his wife, Carol, enjoyed their Sunday nights going to Sunny's Restaurant in Batavia.
He was predeceased by his father, John. He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Kim (Andy) Carroll of Colorado, Todd (Sue) Gray of Connecticut, Tammy (Chris) Donnelly of Fairport, Melissa (Dave) Alkins of Fairport; grandchildren, Drew, Jack, Hannah, Maddy, Trevor, Rachel, Grayson; his mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Murphy of Albion; siblings, Colin "Pete" (Kathy) of Florida, Michael J. of Maryland, Colleen M. (Phil) McKenna of Albion, Mark J. (Polly) of Albion, William F. (Cindy) of Greece; several nieces, nephews, cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 W. Avenue, Albion, Friday from 2-4 PM and 6-9 PM. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish, Saturday at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans, P.O. Box 489, Albion NY 14411.
