Donations of school supplies, personal hygiene items and medical supplies from Kendall Central School District are helping the U.S. soldiers perform their support mission for the Afghan people for a second time this year, thanks to the aid of students, staff and the community. Members of student council at Kendall Elementary School, who are all sixth-grade students, successfully coordinated a community donation for the Tahai Maskan Orphanage, an orphanage for boys, in Kabul, Afghanistan, last month. The donations were sent to Kabul to members of the Bravo Company, 427th Logistical Task Force of Phoenix to give to the boys’ orphanage. The donations included notebooks, pens and pencils, bandages, coloring books, crayons and small candy. The donations totaled 13 boxes that weighed between 12 to 45 pounds each. The donations were a joint effort through the elementary school’s Character Education Program, student council and many community members and businesses.
