Baseball/Softball

•NEW YORK EXCURSION: The Polish Union of America, St. Matthew Lodge No. 395 will travel to the new Yankee Stadium for two games against the Baltimore Orioles. The games are Sept. 12 and Sept. 13. The price is $255. For more information, call 692-2152.

•TORONTO EXCURSION: Fifty-five seats are available for an excursion to Toronto to watch the Blue Jays host the New York Yankees at 1 p.m. on Sept. 5. Price for the full package is $85. •WHIRLPOOL PARK LITTLE LEAGUE TRIP TO TORONTO: Whirlpool Park Little League is sponsoring a trip to see the New York Yankees-Toronto Blue Jays game on Sept. 6 at the Rogers Centre. Basketball

•GIRLS BASKETBALL SUPERCAMP: SuperCamps and SuperClinics will host a girls basketball offensive skills SuperCamp at NCCC. The camp is open for ages 8-18. Commuters will attend from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and day campers from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 26 to July 30. For more info, call (585) 394-4299.

•HILBERT COLLEGE CAMP: Hilbert College Basketball camp will now be accepting registrations for its 2009 summer camp program on Sundays from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Students entering grades 3-12 a eligible to attend. Boys weeks are June 28 through July 2 and July 12 through 16. Girls camp to run July 5 through 9 and July 19 through 23. Day camp runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and weekly and meals are included in the cost. For more information, call 926-8800.

•LOCKPORT BOYS CLINIC: Two week-long clinics will be held at Lockport High School in July. The first, for JV and modified players, will run from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. the week of July 6. Varsity and JV players are welcome from noon to 4 p.m. the week of July 13. Cost is $70 for the first week, and $80 for the second. JV players who want to do both weeks will be charged $130. •NFB&G; CLUB CLASSIC: The Niagara Falls Boys and Girls Club and the Niagara PAL are looking for teams for the 7th Annual Girls Summer Classic league which is open to all girls with high school eligibility remaining. •NIAGARA UNIVERSITY CAMP: Niagara University Basketball Camp will have walk-up registration for the first camp session at 8 a.m. on June 29. This session runs from June 29 to July 3. Registration for the second session will be at 8 a.m. on Aug. 3. This session will run from Aug. 3 to Aug 7. The camp is open for boys and girls, ages 8-16. •TEN-STAR ALL-STAR SUMMER CAMP: Final applications are being evaluated for the Ten-Star All-Star Summer Basketball Camp. The camp is by invitation only. Boys and girls ages 10 to 19 are eligible to apply. Past participants include Michael Jordan and Tim Duncan, among other past and present NBA stars. College basketball scholarships are possible for players selected to the All-American team. There is also a summer camp available for boys and girls ages 9 to 18 of all skill levels. Basketball/Lacrosse

•CAMP NCCC: Niagara County Community College will be offering three free, one-day clinics in girls basketball, girls lacrosse and boys lacrosse beginning at 2 p.m. on June 14 at the Sanborn campus. The girls hoops clinic will be conducted by renowned shooting specialist Tim “The Target” Sullivan. The lacrosse clinics will be led by NCCC’s newest lacrosse head coaches, Rich Kilgour (boys) and Brendan McDaniels (girls). The clinic is a precursor to July and August’s Camp NCCC. The strength and conditioning camp, coached by members of the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, will run from June 30 to Aug. 6. The Fit Kid camp runs July 5 to 9 and features Bally’s Total Fitness trainers. Kilgour and the Buffalo Bandits will run their boys lacrosse camp from July 12 to 16. The Buffalo Jills will run the Cheer Elite camp from July 19 to 23. Bob Guy’s SuperCamps will conduct a girls basketball camp from July 26 to 30, and girls volleyball from Aug. 2 to 6. Cheerleading

•CHEER ELITE CAMP: NCCC will host the camp July 19 through July 23. It is open for ages 8-18. It has a resident camper fee of $425, and a commuter fee of $350. The staff includes Stephanie Mateczum, director for the NFL Buffalo Jills Cheerleaders, and Kelli Wagner, the Jills’ choreographer. •ALL-STAR CHEERLEADING: The Niagara Pythons All Star Cheerleading Program will be holding registration/placements at 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at The Boys and Girls Club, 725 17th Street, Niagara Falls. Conditioning

•CAMP FIT KID: Camp NCCC presents Camp Fit Kid. The camp will run from July 5 through July 9. It is open for ages 14 to 18. There is a resident fee of $425, and commuter fee of $350. The camp is co-sponsored by Bally’s Total Fitness. For more information, call 614-6259.

Football/Cheerleading

•NIAGARA FALLS JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUB: The Niagara Falls Junior Football Club will have a registration for football players and cheerleaders from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on June 17 and 18, and July 15 and 16 at the LaSalle Pre School on Buffalo Avenue. Football players must be 7 (as of Dec. 1, 2009) to 13 while cheerleaders can be from 6 to 16. For more info, call 471-2727.

•NTAA YOUTH FOOTBALL: North Tonawanda Youth Football and Cheerleading is holding open registration Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rescue Fire Hall, Strad Avenue, North Tonawanda. Cost is $100 for football players and $90 for cheerleaders. There are 10 cheerleading spots available for ages 6-8 (ages of Dec. 1, 2009), 17 spots for 9 and 10 year olds, and 19 spots for 11 and 12 year olds. Phone registration will not be accepted. Football players must be age 7 by Aug. 1, and cannot turn 14 before Dec. 1. Athletes should have a copy of their birth certificate and insurance information at the time of registration. •LORRIE JANESE MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT: The third annual Lorrie Janese Memorial Golf Tournament will be held June 27 at Hyde Park Golf Course. The fee of $75 includes 18 holes of golf and a guest for dinner, with prizes for each golfer. Also, a Chinese auction will be held. Proceeds benefit Niagara Hospice. For more info, call 628-2834.

•ROY E. SOMMER MEMORIAL: The 7th Annual Roy E. Sommer Memorial Golf Scramble will be held on June 29 at Tan Tara Country Club, beginning at 10 a.m. The fee is $105 before June 25 and includes golf, cart, steak dinner and giveaways. •ROBERT MARTIN SR. MEMORIAL: The 20th annual Robert Martin Sr. Memorial Golf Tourmament will be held at 11 a.m. July 13 at Lockport Town and Country Club. The tournament raises money for a scholarship. Those interested in the event should call 751-3601.

•NIAGARA PAL GOLF AND DINNER: The Niagara Police Athletic League Great Niagara Steakout 4th annual dinner and golf outing is set for Aug. 5 at the Hyde Park Golf Course and Oasis. Openings are available for male and female golfers, individuals to foursomes. The cost is $85 per golfer and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, prizes, lunch clams and a steak or chicken dinner. There is a dinner-only option for $45. Tee times are available at 7:30 a.m. or 12 p.m. Sponsorships and donated raffle/auction prizes are being accepted. •NCCC BOYS LACROSSE CAMP: Camp NCCC and the Buffalo Bandits are hosting a boys lacrosse camp, individual and team, July 12 to 16 at Niagara County Community College. Boys ages 8 to 18 are welcome. •PORTER RECREATION CAMP: The Town of Porter’s Summer Recreation Camp will be held at Stevenson Elementary School from July 7 to Aug. 13. Registration will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 1 and 2 in the school’s gym. The camp is for those going into first grade and up until 10th grade. For more info, call 745-3583.

•NIAGARA UNIVERSITY DAY CAMP: The Niagara University Summer Youth Camp will be held for seven weeks from June 24 to Aug. 7 for children between the ages of 6 and 12 years old. The number of campers will be held to 80 per week and the cost for camp is $125 per week. A $50 non-refundable deposit is due per camper, per week. Registration will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. n NFB&G; DAY CAMP: The Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club will sponsor a day camp for boys and girls ages 4 to 14. All camps begin June 29 and continue until Aug. 14. There are several camp offerings. Camp Together is for boy and girls ages 4 to 8. It will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Hyde Park. Camp fee is $55 per week plus $10 registration. Camp at Hyde Park is for boys and girls ages 9 to 14. It will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hyde Park. This camp will go to Fort Niagara two times per week. The fee is $55 plus $10 registration. Camp BEAM is for boys and girls ages 7 to 11. It will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Maple Avenue School. The fee is $70 for all seven weeks plus $10 registration. Camp at the Club is for boys and girls ages 5 to 12. It is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Club site — 725 17th Street. Camp fee is $70 for all seven weeks plus $10 registration. Space is limited. Running

•DICK BESSEL INDEPENDENCE DAY RUN: The 34th annual Dick Bessel Independence Day Run will be held on July 4 in Grand Island. A kids race starts at 9 a.m. followed by a 2.3-mile race at 9:15 a.m. For more information on the race, call 773-9680.

Soccer

•NIAGARA PAL SUMMER SOCCER PROGRAM: The Niagara PAL Summer Soccer Program for boys and girls age 4 to 14 is now accepting registrations for the 2009 summer season. The league meets on Tuesday and Thursdays for five weeks beginning July 7 at the Niagara Falls High School athletic fields. The cost is $25, with family discounts for two or more players. Strength and conditioning

•NCCC STRENGTH CAMP: The Niagara County Community College Strength and Conditioning Camp will be held from June 30 to Aug. 6 at NCCC. Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center will provide coaches for the event, which will run in weekly intervals at 4 p.m. from Monday through Thursday. The cost is $350 for the six-week session. Swimming

•NORTH TONAWANDA LESSONS: NT’s Recreation Department is accepting reservations for summer swimming lessons for North Tonawanda children 10 and under. Lessons are held at the Memorial Pool on Payne Avenue Monday through Friday. Participants may register for one or both sessions. The first is June 29 to July 24 and the second is July 27 to Aug. 21. Tennis

•SUMMER CLINICS: North Tonawanda’s Recreation Department is accepting reservations for its summer mini tennis clinics for kids ages 6 to 13. The first clinic will be for girls and will run daily from June 29 to July 17. The 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. session will be for girls ages 6 to 9, and the 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. session will be for girls 10 to 13. Boys lessons run July 20-Aug. 7. Age groups and times are the same. Both clinics will be held at the Taber Courts across from Gersh Academy. Fees are $10 for residents and $25 for nonresidents. To register, call 695-8520, ext. 508.

n N-W SUMMER TENNIS CAMP: A summer tennis camp will be held at Niagara-Wheatfield High School every Tuesday, Wed. and Thurs., for five weeks beginning July 7. Participants may register for one, two or three days per week. Fees are $10 per class and will be held under the direction of tennis professional Kristin Janese. Deadline to register is June 19. •NIAGARA UNIVERSITY TENNIS CAMP: Niagara University will host a tennis camp from Aug. 14 to 16 at Niagara Tennis Courts. This session goes from Aug. 10 to 12. Registration by July 20 will have a $180 fee, and $190 after. The second session is a Setter/Hitter Camp. This session will be from Aug. 13 to 14. Registration by July 20 will have a $105 fee, and $115 after. Early registration for both camps is $250, and $265 after July 20.
